Title:  Acidopolis Author:  AKNeutron (AKware) Year:  2011 (?) Engine:  AGI Description:  "The game follows Brack Malaleuca, an employee at Hammond Motors in the city of Valac, as he discovers an alien ship and ultimately must save the world." URL:   http://sciprogramming.com/fangames.php?action=review&id=36 Thoughts: Acidopolis also has a solid hook, following in the formula of "XYZ must ABC ... and then, ultimately, save the universe from destruction." This sort of thing never fails to get the blood pumping. Also, its title screen is truly awesome. Pressing enter causes acid to bleed from the letters, which is rad. Brack is some kind of scientist who works with some kind of gravity propulsion device. However, he apparently spent 5 years in community college for this job, so I guess physicists and engineers are low-tier in the future. This future sounds great. Title:  Abrah - L'orphelin de l'espace (Review TBC) Author:  Robin Gravel Year:  1999 - 2002 (?) Engine:  AGI Description:  "An orphan named Abrah is the prisoner of the mad scientist Grostesteing on his base in outer space. Abrah has to defeat Grostesteing, free the other slaves, and escape from the mad scientist's base." Like everything good), this game seems fantastic, and I'd love to be able to do the Noam Chomsky thing someday where I casually consume foreign media without even mentioning that I did it in another language. Title:  13th Disciple Author: Perry Hendriks (Royal Software) Year: 2002 Engine: AGI Description: "In January - March 2002, 8 women disappeared from a college high school in Boston, Massachusetts. Although the police found numerous clues that pointed to someone within the school's boundaries, no one was ever apprehended. The police are at a loss." URL:   http://sciprogramming.com/fangames.php?action=review&id=100 Thoughts: This is a strong start, and I'm glad the author decided to give his game a numerical title. This is always a good way to consistently top the alphabetical order, and no Aaron Adelson will ever get in your way. Although I have no idea what a "college high school" might be, the plot has its hooks in me from the start. Murder is a bit of a lazy gimmick that way: what better way to make people pay attention, to give your story that little extra buzz, than through senseless killing? Brief introductory post: I just wanted to chronicle my efforts to play all of the AGI / SCI fangames out there. Who am I? My online name is (usually) suejak, and I've been playing Sierra games since I was a kid in the late '80s. I grew up with AGI and SCI adventures. Once people started making fan games in the late '90s using AGIstudio, I was inspired to give it a shot, having been into making Klik & Play (1994) games in that era already. Thus, over Memorial Day weekend 1999, as a junior high student, I created the short game Monkey Man ("Your quest: Find a man and kick him in the balls") and uploaded it to the AGI / SCI fan game mailing list, as I was looking for help with a bug at the very end. I received no advice that fixed the bug and it remains in the game to this day.
